Something to talk about

I am preparing a presentation for a group of business students. It's the point in the class where they learn about Human Resources - sort of a 45 minute what we do kind of presentation. We will spend some time talking about our areas of specialty with an emphasis on recruiting and interviewing.

I have done this presentation in various forms for years. But I have never done this presentation in a year like this. I imagine that 1) there will be MORE questions than normal college students at the end of a semester ask; and 2) the questions will be different -more direct, more concerned, less about what HR does and more about how to work with HR or around HR. What they will want to hear about really is how are they -just graduating from college - going to get a job?

I will have lots of ideas, tools, suggestions, resources, contacts - a list a mile long. But the truth is, I really don't know. I will let you know how it goes.

It is always kind of fun to be in front of the class, and if these students are anything like mine, they will be desperate for practical advice and 'real world' information. I am sure you will give them plenty of both. Good luck on your presentation.
