January news

Well it's been a busy January.  So busy that I haven't taken the time to sit down and write.  I had a couple of topics on the agenda.  I could write about my colonoscopy or a really great small business. 

Neither are about human resources.  Both involve pictures.  Guess which one wins?

For many years, I have been shopping locally - supporting small businesses to buy groceries, bread, wine, candles, good stuff.  We try and avoid big box stores except for some large items and gas.  We pay a little more but it's worth it. 

So my friend's magnificent, amazing store, Art of the Table, is up for a service award.  If +Amy Ruis wins, she will win an entire year of marketing promotion, along with a tidy sum of $5000.  That's a big deal for a small business. 

Most Saturdays, you can find me at Art of the Table picking up my wine.  I call or message Amy, tell her what we are having for dinner, and she has several bottles set aside when we show up.  We usually buy them all.
